IMS as a partner in consortium „TechnoAiEmEs“ successfully accomplished a contract for the upgrade of the Bulgarian SafeSeaNet System to version 5.
SafeSeaNet (SSN) is a European maritime information exchange system developed by the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA). It facilitates the sharing of vessel traffic and maritime safety data among European Union (EU) member states, port authorities, and relevant maritime organizations.
The main functionalities of the SSN systems include monitoring of ship movements using AIS (Automatic Identification System) and satellite data thus supports environmental monitoring by tracking ships that may pose pollution risks. SSN enhances the response to incidents such as oil spills, collisions, or other emergencies. It helps ports prepare for incoming ships, reducing congestion and improving efficiency. The systems also tracks dangerous goods and ensures compliance with maritime regulations.
SafeSeaNet is used by national authorities to enhance maritime security, ensure regulatory compliance, and improve overall efficiency in European waters.
